SOOC vs. Professional Printing

I wanted to take a moment and explain the difference between the hi-res proof images you receive on your dvd and professional printed images you order and that end up in your album.

Images on your dvd are hi-res jpeg proof images processed straight out of the camera, (SOOC), through Adobe Lightroom and adjusted for exposure and color. This way you have images you can take to your local lab or print at home. Images on my blog, printed from online orders, and included in your album receive “TLC” work inside Adobe Photoshop. The work done on these images is intended to give a “finished” look and to represent my artistic style. In addition, these images receive custom sharpening, contrast, color and skin adjustments, if necessary.

Now here are some example images to illustrate the “TLC” finishing that goes into making images.  Notice a couple image sets the finishing is subtle, but powerful.  ”finished” images are on the top for landscape sets and on the left for portrait sets.

Thanks for explaining the difference between SOOC and TLC as I did wonder!
